On the Seiser Alm

I want more!

Be it during the spring when its meadows are a sea of colourful flowers, be it during the autumn with its Indian colours and crisp air or during the magic all white winter season – the Seiser Alm is worth a visit any time of the year. Here we experience a sense of freedom.

Picture book walking days

The scent of alpine flowers and the ringing of cow bells are the backdrop to 350 kms of nature trails across the fantastic nature of Europe’s highest alm. If you like climbing peaks, you can do so at the Plattkofel mountain or the Schlern. You may await the sunset and its reflections on the pale Dolomite rock formations from these high vantage points, and the day ends on a high.

Cycling

Where else would you find more spectacular Dolomite passes, more versatile mountain bike trails and more enjoyable E-Bike tracks? Cycling on the Seiser Alm and around the Grödnertal is something special. The network of tracks comprises 600 kms of bike trails on two levels. And what’s best – you are being rewarded by looking at the Dolomites!

Skiing on the Seiser Alm

A winter holiday without using the many different ski slopes on the magnificent Seiser Alm would not be a proper holiday. The cable brings everyone, beginner as well as professional, from the valley onto the Alm. Up there you find another 79 cable cars and 181 kms of ski-slopes to choose from – it is the largest ski area in the Dolomites. And it is nothing short of a dream with these views!

Cross-country skiing and snow-walking

Can you hear the snow crunching beneath your cross-country skies? And the sound of silence? 80 kms of perfectly prepared slopes await you to enjoy the postcard environment of the Seiser Alm. The mountain peaks of the Langkofel, Plattkofel and the Schlern seem within reach. Nothing beats it.

But if you prefer a more relaxed approach you may want to walk in the snow, as walking is not just a summer pastime. To walk the snow in the winter almost has a meditative quality to it, particularly in the untouched landscape of the Seiser Alm.

Tobogganing

Fresh winter air. A beautiful blue sky. Every winter day is like an invitation to initiate a swift tobogganing competition of the many slopes on the Seiser Alm. They range from easy to challenging. And you may pass inviting mountain huts, where you enjoy ‘Schlutzkrapfen’ and ‘Knödel’, followed by an ‘Apfelstrudel’ or a ‘Kaiserschmarrn’. We deserve it! To top it, you may toboggan at night when the moon shines, which is a very popular and romantic pastime.
